2. Contents & necessary tools
| Included in the box |
You must have it yourself. |
| 10.25″ Android 13 screen w/frame |
Torx T20/T25 screwdriver |
| Plug-and-play Quadlock/MOST wiring harness |
Plastic trimming tool |
| LVDS video cable |
Possible radio removal tool |
| CAN-bus box + microphone |
10 mm key for battery terminal |

Spritus cloth for wiping fingerprints |
3. Preparation
- Park the car with the wheels straight.
- Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative terminal on the battery - this will avoid short circuits.
- Apply the handbrake; be aware that the radio may ask for a security code if you later reconnect OEM devices.
4. Dismantling the original screen (≈ 15 min.)
| Step |
Do this. |
|
4.1 Remove the air vent panel |
Use plastic tool: pry at each corner and pull straight out. (Shown in video) |
|
4.2 Unscrew the OEM screen |
4 × Torx T20 behind the ventilation holes. Lift the screen forward. |
|
4.3 Remove LVDS and power connectors |
Press the locking tab down, pull straight back. Set the screen aside. |
Tip: If your car has a BOSE/Bang & Olufsen amplifier, there is a fiber-optic (MOST) cable connected to the LVDS connector. Leave it in place - the new screen will loop the signal through.
5. Connect the wiring harness
-
Quadlock: Pull the OEM connector out of the MMI unit and click into the male → female bypass connector on the new network – no wires need to be cut.
-
LVDS: Connect the included video cable male/female.
-
CAN box: Mounted between Quadlock and screen; the box translates steering wheel buttons and parking sensors.
-
(Optional) Connect RCA to aftermarket rear view camera – the purple/white “REV” wire provides 12V when in reverse.
6. Installing the new 10.25″ screen
- Click the metal clips on the frame into the original holes.
- Push the screen in from above; make sure that the cables are not pinched.
- Use the same 4 Torx screws to secure the screen.
- Replace the air vent panel – press until it “clicks”.
7. First start-up & setup
- Reconnect the battery → turn on the ignition.
- The screen boots in 10-15 seconds. Select Settings → Car Type → Q7-MMI-High for correct CAN profile.
- Set date/time → select Danish language.
-
Bluetooth pairing: “Audi-BT-Q7” → PIN 0000.
-
Apple CarPlay / Android Auto (cable): Use the USB port in the glove compartment. (Wireless module available for purchase → activate in the menu).

| Question |
Answer |

No – the CAN box learns steering wheel buttons, OPS sensors, etc. on its own. |
| Does BOSE/B&O work?
|
Yes, audio is transmitted digitally via MOST. |
| Do I keep car info menus (oil, service, etc.)?
|
Yes, they will appear in the “Car” app on the new device. |
| Can I keep the CD changer?
|
Yes – but if you remove it, the MOST loop must be closed with a bypass adapter. |

The device does not affect factory settings; can be removed in 10 minutes if the car is to be serviced/lease-returned. |
10. Quick troubleshooting
| Symptom |
Possible cause |
Solution |
| The screen does not turn on. |
No 12 V ACC / battery disconnected |
Check fuse #27 (radio) and Quadlock |
| No sound |
Fiber loop broken |
Check that the MOST connector clicks correctly; if necessary, use a bypass loop |
| Steering wheel buttons not working |
Wrong CAN profile selected |
Settings → Car Type → select “Q7-MMI-High” again |
| Rear view camera black image |
No 12 V for camera |
Measure purple reverse trigger; provide separate +12 V if necessary |
Tips for a professional finish
- Clean plastic surfaces with isopropyl before assembly for a better fit.
- Place a thin foam tape behind the screen to avoid vibrations.
- Update Android firmware via OTA approximately every six months for the latest security patches.
With the included plug-and-play wiring kit, the installation itself is tool-light and only requires basic tools. The most important prerequisite is that the car has MMI High – so check the color screen, joystick and software code before ordering. Once the screen is installed, you get modern features such as CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS navigation and digital speedometer without sacrificing the factory BOSE sound, parking sensors or steering wheel controls. Enjoy the upgrade – and have a good trip!
